An event was organized in the campus of Krishna Institute of Technology, Kanpur to give an introduction to Open Source Technology, FOSS, OSUM, OSUM Club of KIOT, and SAI. This was the first official meeting of the OSUM Club in the campus of KIOT.

The details of the events were as follows:

Date : October 31, 2009
Time : 3:00 pm-4:15 pm
Venue: Conference Hall (Krishna Institute of Technology, Kanpur)
Number of Participating students: 54
Number of Participating Faculty members:3

The seminar was divided into two parts:

1. The first part introduced the participating students to the Open Source Technology and clarified the concepts of the same in deep.

2. Whereas the second part introduced them to Sun and its technologies, and gave a detailed description of OSUM community, its benefits etc. It also focused on motivating the students towards the FOSS and OSUM.

The participants showed enthusiastic behavior towards the FOSS and OSUM. We are awaiting for the healthy response from the junta of KIOT.
