It will be one web application in few years to come which will control all ur mail logins, reply
on your chat ids. Will manage ur STOCK portfolios. Will transact and manage ur FUNDS.
More smartely than what we can do. It will just ask a yes / no to us to move forward.
This software will depend completely on all LIVE data in web space and will decide dyanmically on its own.
Ex. IF u are in india once NYSE, DOW is started the VI -virtual intellect will trade on ur behalf when u are sleeping. Will pay ur bills from ur accounts before bill payment date ends. lot of other things wihich u cannot think. Will also control all ur home appliacnces and maintain power backups for it.
And initally will be only available to FUNDMANAGERS, HIGH profile business man, EXECUTIVES,etc
will not be affordable to general mass.
License cost will be quite high.
BI - business intelligence tools will be integrated with it.
ORACLE HYPERION/IBM CONGNOZ etc might be internally used.
TERADATA might be one to rule as it will be the right fit in this market space.
JAVA will be the main platform with JINI doing lot of internals.

CHEMICAL stream will rise again.
Will affect [IT , POWER, PHARMA and other industries drastically ]
History will repeat:
For computers [processing] from mechanical we went to electrical then electronics then lot of things in integrations [msi, lsi vlsi] Now with quadcores and still more integrations. But what next
it will rule storage space, communications, processing logic will change and many other things will be combined
NANO TECHNOLOGY + CHEMICAL [FLUID] + AI
RED HAT will compete MS on a very large scale once it will bundle all of this for free
EXADEL STUDIO- Java enterprise dev suite
JBOSS SERVER - java Enterprise server
MOBICENT - Enterprise telecom / sip server
BULL - enterprise products in different segments
TOMCAT will become defacto
JBOSS will come main stream and default java enterprise server
BEA will be the best of all commercial grade MIDDLEWARE and will be taken over by either IBM or ORACLE
