An Open Source Hut in Polaris-09

Hello friends,
Happy to see new theme and features of OSUM.

We are having a national level 2 days technical symposium as POLARIS-09.
In this, there are many events whose details are given as below:
INAUGURAL - 10:00 - 12 :00

TECHSCRIBE(paper presentation) - 12:00 - 16:00
GRUPO CASO(group event) - 13:00 - 19:00
BIZONOMICS (marketing) phaseI - 15:00 - 18:00
CODICE(overnight c coding) - 21:00 onwards
BLOG-ON(online blogging event)

DAY-2: 17th AUGUST

FUZIONA(video editing) - 09:00-12:00
BIZONOMICS (marketing) phaseII - 09:00-13:00
NEXHIBITION(software+hardware exhibition)- 10:00-14:00
VALEDICTORY- 15:30-17:30
CULTURAL - 18:00-21:00

On both the days, we are having an Open Source Hut to be set up in department.It will be there from morning to evening on both the days.
\Most important is that all events are having a mininal fees except OPEN SOURCE HUT...
It will include videos,quiz,prizes,software cds,operating system cds etc.Details of each are given below:

Videos:In this we have downloaded and gethered a lot many videos showing superiority of Open Source.We have edited the videos, set the background, integrated some of them and have tried our best to teach students about basics and efficiency of Open Source.There are many videos and they will be shown at regular interval of time.

Software DVSs: In this we are to give a CD to each and everyone who comes to Open Source Hut.The CD contains softwares which are all Open Source. Some of the softwares are:

My Lock Box
Magic Disk
Dos Box

etc etc etc


Quiz:We have prepared a quiz which has questions about Open Source.The questions will be asked at regular intervals.The prizes will be given to all who give correct answers.

OS DVDs: We are also distributing DVDs of operating system. We have made 30 DVDs each of SUSE 11.1 and Fedora11. All interested guys will get it.
