Java, Java, Java, SAI can help you get Sun Certified Java Associate!

Java, Java, Java, SAI can help you get Sun Certified Java Associate!

As the SAI Program Manager I'd like to open your eyes and open your minds to the power of SAI by doing a series of blogs introducing to you some major courses that's available on SAI. Last time, I blogged about the power of UNIX Essentials yielding to the new Sun Certified Solaris Associate (SCSAS), now I'd like to give you some Java.

Are you unfamiliar with Java? Do you think its a reference to coffee or an island in Indonesia? Well be ready to open your mind to this – Fundamentals of the Java Programming Language.

Fundamentals of the Java Programming Language is intended for students with little or no programming experience. The course teaches the significance of object-oriented programming, the keywords and constructs of the Java programming language, and the steps required to create simple Java technology programs. Students taking this course can receive a solid basis in the Java programming language upon which to base continued work and training. The course features the Java Platform, Standard Edition 6 (Java SE 6) platform, and uses the Java SE Development Kit 6 (JDK 6) product.

The three (3) courses under Fundamentals of the Java Programming Language are:
WJ-1101-SE6 – Instroduction to the Java Programming Language
WJ-1102-SE6 – Implementing Basic Constructs in the Java Programming Language
WJ-1103-SE6 – Implementing Object-Oriented Concepts in the Java Programming Language.

Once you've completed these three (3) initial courses, you'll be ready to move on to the next step which is the course called Java Platform Overview for Managers.

Java Platform Overview for Managers provides students with the key concepts and technical insights necessary to manage or proscribe distributed application development with the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition.

The four (4) courses under Java Platform Overview for Managers are:
WJ-3101-EE5 – Introduction to the Java EE Platform
WJ-3102-EE5 – Developing Components for the Java EE Platform
WJ-3103-EE5 – Implementing Persistence, Transactions and Messaging in a Java EE Application
WJ-3104-EE5 – Implementing Java EE Web Services and Security

So let's do some simple math:
3 course under Fundamentals of Java Progamming Language
+4 courses under Java Platform Overview for Managers
=Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA)

It's that simple and you're on your way to greater earning power with JAVA!

Put it simple SCJA is for these pursuing their carrier in business and project management and require minimum Java programming background. SCJP on other hand is for these looking to do some application development (writing actual code). Also SCJP is pre-requirement for further study for other certificates thereafter; SCJD, SCWCD, SCBCD, SCDJWS or SCMAD.
More info can be found here or short description of each Java Certificate from Sun Certified Programmer for Java 6 Study Guide
