@Zeeman

BlueJ is a simple IDE designed to help beginners learn to programme using Java. It is not part of NetBeans, but it's not new either. This year it is 10 years old! We even had a cake at JavaOne.

There is also a "BlueJ Project Support" plugin for NetBeans which allows NetBeans to work directly with BlueJ projects, to help students make the transition to the much richer NetBeans environment.

Arrghh. What's the syntax to insert links into posts?
Michael Kölling Comment by Michael Kölling on June 5, 2009 at 1:50am
I should try that again, and see whether I can make the link a link...

BlueJ (and Greenfoot) feature in the new (#74) edition of the Java Mobility Podcast, recorded at SIGCSE last week. Granted, Binky mis-pronounces my surname, but then he calls me a "mastermind", so that's OK :-)
